Plus Size Bridal Portraits
I am a plus size blogger, and I’m no stranger to having my photo taken. I have worked professionally with photographers on campaigns, and commercial shoots. When it came to my bridal portraits, I wanted something a little bit more intimate. My husband shoots all of my content for Instagram, and although we hired a talented photographer to shoot our wedding and the events surrounding it, for my bridal portraits I wanted something intimate and romantic. In lieu of bridal portraits, I told my wedding photographer I wanted some photos of my husband and I getting our marriage license. My husband suggested that he take my bridal portraits. As a plus size woman, sometimes there is a disconnect with photographers who know plus size bodies and one’s who do not. While I think my wedding photography captured my plus size body beautifully, I knew that my husband would see me through completely different eyes and my bridal portraits would be something intimate and memorable. We got to go to our wedding venue a little early on the day of our rehearsal, we shot the following images and I couldn’t be happier!
Over the course of being a bride , I have definitely approached things in a non-traditional way. For my bachelorette party, my bridesmaids and girlfriends headed to Salem, MA and took some bewitching portraits and I discovered my desire to be a spooky, old-timey bride. For the bridal portraits I decided to use the dress from my reception look. I found so many great options from BHLDN over the course of my bridal year. I really love everything I’ve worn from BHLDN. I am wearing a size 26 in the dress and absolutely love it – size up!
