Plus Size Fall Date Night Outfits
Is it just me or is fall the BEST time for dates? Strolling through the city lit up by twinkling lights. Kissing and seeing your breath in the cold air. OOH-LA-LA. I love choosing layers and textures for romantic outfits – and there’s something about the fabric associated with cooler temperature that just screams date night. Velvet, wool, cashmere – all of those fabrics are begging for a little extra touch from someone special. Plus size retailers always make sure they carry a stretchy velvet/velour dress every cold weather season, so you won’t have too much trouble finding the perfect romantic dress. But I want to open your mind up to other options! Jumpsuits (particularly wrap fronts or spaghetti strap ones) are just as chic and romantic for date night.

I love the masculine/feminine contrast of pairing a structured woolen coat with a more flowy piece underneath. Play with rich colors and textures for your date night outfits – the more touchable the better. If color-play isn’t your niche, stick within the realm of jewel tone outfits. Rich plums, dark ruby, emerald green and royal purple are just the tip of the iceberg. I love shopping Eloquii and ModCloth for beautiful plus size dresses and jumpsuits. If you’re looking for plus size coats with a sultry vibe try shopping at Anthropologie or Nordstrom for some gorgeous pieces.
I kept the accessories and makeup the same because I wanted to show y’all how easy it is to build one of these looks! I also feel like date night looks should have bespoke and special accessories to make the evening a touch more romantic. Earrings your partner gifted you, a perfume that reminds you of a special day, lipstick that makes you feel va-va-va-voom. When you’re putting together these date night looks remember that your coat is DEFINITELY part of the outfit. It’s a show piece. I have a black puffer coat that keeps me snug and toasty but it’s not date night worthy. I would suggest finding a long-line coat in a fabulous color. You’ll be feeling elegant in no time!
