Spring Fashion for Plus Size Travel
This morning I had that Havana song stuck in my head. It was like, the strangest thing. I suddenly had the biggest case of wanderlust. I imagined myself slathering on sunscreen (my fave is the Coola Sport SPF 50 in Guava Mango – who needs perfume?) dancing through colorful streets, gabbing with the locals of a foreign country, hanging off the back of a vespa (mint green) and getting into all kinds of trouble. Even though it’s still chilly in Dallas, I’m warming up to the bright colors, light fabrics and breezy silhouettes of the months to come.
Is it just me or are stores packing our bags for us right now? Everywhere I go I’m seeing vacation ready maxi dresses, prints that scream “I’VE VENTURED OUTSIDE THE US”, and color. Electric color.
Last night I watched an enthusiastic unboxing video of items from the new Louis Vuitton Monogram Giant collection. I died when I saw this vibrant lime and hot lilac color combination and was instantly reminded of a two piece set I had recently tried on during the launch of Anthropologie’s plus line, A+.
And I totally get it. It’s spring. People are beginning to vacation. Co-eds are on spring break. Spraaaang breaaaaaak (James Franco voice). Yes, duh, people are traveling. WOW, what a revelation.
But like, I feel it extra hard?
Anyways, while I cannot afford a jaunt down to Cuba, I can grab a vibrant dress and a street taco, roll down my sun roof and listen to some Buena Vista Social Club. I could also stream the Lizzie McGuire movie — the pinnacle of glamorous travel, IMHO.
Here’s a small collection of new arrivals (plus size of course) that I am VIBING right now and are giving me all the jet-setting, ocean-cruising, sitting on the back of an Italian Popstar’s motorbike feeeeels atm.
